Want to know a surprise?

Sooo, here's the reason for my blogging hiatus. I've been tired. Really, really tired. And there's a reason why I've been tired.

I've kind of been growing a life.

Back on December 31, 2008 I had this feeling. Just a feeling. So I peed on a stick and saw the faint lines that indicated I was pregnant. Just to be sure, I took two tests. And another the next morning (at Craig's insistence!). It was for sure.

I am pregnant!?! I think every emotion went through me in about 2.3 seconds. Excitement, fear, thrill, joy, elation...2.3 seconds people! I immediately prayed for the life growing inside me and for God to keep it safe.

I waited until Craig came home from work to tell him and it felt like the longest afternoon. I wanted to make him a baby card, but all of our stuff was packed and I had no idea where my card making supplies were. I gave up and went to the grocery store and bought a bib that said, "I love my Daddy" to show him when he got home. It was the only thing I could find that was even remotely creative/cute. And it was going to have to do.

He came home and I pulled out the bib and showed it to him. It took him a moment to process and I was ready to blurt out the news. Well, in actuality, I bet he didn't take all that long to process the news, but it seemed like an eternity to me. I totally understood, I had already been there!

There's gonna be more news later, but for now, I would like to introduce you to our little blob. I labeled the baby in the first sonogram because, well, it really did look like a blob. Heart beat was 171.

Three short weeks later, I had my 2nd sonogram and the detail was impressive. Not only can you actually tell where the head is, but our little one was jumping up and down. I guess hitting its head on the uterus wasn't too big of a deal, 'cause the little thing kept doing it over and over again! If you click on the image, you will see my notes. The ultrasound tech labeled the hand. Heart beat was 154.
I am 11 weeks along and feeling better and better by the day. Rest assured, I plan on communicating the good the bad and the ugly during this pregnancy. I've already got some ideas planned!

And for those of you who are also my Facebook friends, I have no idea what Becky's nor Keriann's secrets are. But this is mine. And I couldn't be happier about this little out-in-the-open secret.

Incidentally, this is also my year anniversary of this old blog. When I started it, I wasn't sure if I was going to keep it going, but I love it. I thought saving this little bit of information was a neat way to ring in the next year of the blog.

Congratulations!! I had a feeling! :)

I've got all sorts of tips, advice, real life what/what not to buy lists, and books to recommend, if you want them, but you have to ask - I hate to be that person that gives unwanted/unsolicited advice! And of course, all sorts of baby sewing patterns!! Yay!! Kids are so much fun!

Me too, Congratulations, I just KNEW! And yeah, that 2.3 seconds thing, I think all women go through it. You're so excited, then scared, then you about crap your pants that it is ACTUALLY happening to you. 2nd time around, no difference, still crazy emotions!
