At least we're ending February on a high note. Suffice it to say that things have been icky 'round these parts for a little while now. Here's a few numbering data points.
Between Friday and Sunday, Madeline had seven or eight baths and even more clothing changes.
I had two clothing changes, on average, per day.
I washed four loads of puke/diarrhea laundry Friday, one on Saturday and two Sunday.
And we washed the car seat cover, too.
Whatever bug is residing in Madeline is really, really trying to get out. And it's taking all the bodily fluid forms out there. My heart was just breaking for Madeline though. Poor little girls was dry heaving and tears streaming down her face. I took her to the pediatrician Friday and she confirmed my dehydration concerns. Madeline had had one slightly wet diaper Friday and would vomit everything back up, usually within minutes of consumption. The pediatrician gave her a zofran tablet and a Pedialite Popsicle. Madeline was a different person after the zofran. Eliminating the nausea made her feel better, but she wasn't out of the woods. She did keep down fluids for the remainder of Friday and all day Saturday. But then Sunday....oh, how I wish we could rewind Sunday and do a few things differently. First, she would have been in disposables all day long and second, we wouldn't have attempted to run errands with her. When Madeline is slightly ill, she gets car sick. She erupts in the car seat every single time she's sick. If I had suspected it before, it's totally confirmed now. We were at our destination in the parking lot when she lost it. All of it. I hopped in the back seat to wipe her hands and face and tell her it was alright, and Craig drove home. A bath and cuddle later, Madeline was just crying and crying. I didn't know what was wrong, but she was miserable. She finally went down for a nap and slept and slept and then slept some more. Three and a half hours later, Craig went in to get the now stirring Madeline and discovered the most foul diaper we've ever seen (and why I think she was crying so much). I just thought I'd seen it all (because there have been some whoppers in the past), but this topped them all. My first thought was to just throw out her BumGenius diaper. But Craig offered to clean it up. I tell you, he was my hero yesterday. This is the first diaper that is going to need some sun to get the stains out and I'm not even sure the extra liner we stuff her nap diapers with is going to ever be the same - it's-just-that-bad.
But the good thing is that Madeline woke up really happy this morning and truly does appear to be on the mend. Slowly but surely, she's getting better.

Oh how relieved you both must be! So is Gramma!
Oh, poor, sweet M! Sorry you've all been dealing with this ick. I hope that she's back to 100% soon!
