Our little guy turned one. ONE.
Is it just me or does the first year of life go by waaaaaaay more quickly when you have two kids? Because this past year flew by. Days quickly turned into weeks and weeks into months.
Gabe is such a blessing to us. The blue-eyed, happy boy who gave us one heck of a fight right after he was born, has continually blessed me this past year.
A few of his favorite things:
- cars and balls.
- Hurling things from his high chair, then proclaiming, "uh oh!"
- chasing Madeline...and bugging her to no end.
- Cruising, but crawling still wins out.
- Repeating sounds, not many words, but he mimics onomatopoeia sounds.
- Loves to clap! All the time :)
Gabe still naps twice a day and is great at putting himself down for sleeps, however, he is an awful teether and the perpetual teething keeps him up at night and he's NEEDY at night.
His favorite time of the day is bath time. Not surprisingly, he does not like getting out.
He is slow to eat solids. I can't figure out if it's because his mouth hurts or not, but I suspect it's more about gagging. He gags all the time and then would just rather not eat. Seriously. I know he'll eventually get the whole solid foods thing, but I'm ready for him to eat what we eat. Things will get easier :) Until then, I'm still pureeing foods and offering him bits of solid foods.
He still doesn't have the fourth bottom tooth. Six teeth on the top and three on the bottom. I'm going to miss his crooked smile when the fourth tooth ruptures his gum. :)
Happy birthday, Gabe. We love you to the moon and back!
