Fulfilling a promise

I promised my mom I would update the blog in less than a week. I can't remember exactly when I made that promise, but I do think I'm within the legal seven day window of time I allotted myself :)

I see that my last post was in March.  The weather was still cool, we had just planted our garden to have late spring frosts arrive. You're welcome, Georgia, because I'm sure the cold snap happened because I planted my plants. You know, like when you water your lawn or wash your car it then rains the next day? Yup, like that.

We've now harvested pumpkins and I've yet to blog about soooo many things that have happened. The truth is that I don't get on the computer much anymore. I do what I can from my phone and since I've quit my job, I'm not bleary-eyed in front of a screen all day long. I do miss blogging, and I wish I could remember so many of the things that happened since blogging became extinct, but I can't say I'm too sorry.  Life is busy with two little kids. No, it's not like I'm shuffling them to and from play dates all the time, but it is busy around here. Sometimes I wish I could see something tangible for my efforts, but, as Craig puts it, "If the kids are alive and well at the end of the day, then you've done your job." ha!  So true!

I'm not going to attempt to recap what I've missed, but here's a few things I may or may not blog about in detail in the future (and these are certainly not in order!):

1) Madeline's last day of school. Her growth, becoming more outgoing, writing her name, and living in an imaginary world filled with her "three-year-olds" the ever-revolving favorite doll or stuffed animal and the fact that when I see pictures of her, I see a real, live little girl and not a toddler.

2) Gabe's dedication, my parents coming out for the event. The fact that I was sick as a dog and the entire month of April is actually a blur.

3) Gabe learning to walk and how he's unstoppable now. My thoughts on his stability and how his personality is reflected in walking. Also, he could be a vampire. I'm still collecting data, but he (a) is known to bite everyone in sight, (b) is paler than pale, and (c) is nocturnal.

4) Easter at our house, complete with another cousin photo flop :)

5) Releasing butterflies

6) Aunt Katie visiting!

7) A rare visit from Tia Mackie :) Aloha!

8) Mother's Day

9) And why this is such an incredible photo.

I'm setting a goal for myself to blog at least once a week. Harumph.  Wonder if I'll keep it...anyone want to keep me accountable?
