Lord have mercy...

Remember Craig's "slippers"? If you don't, here's a reminder.
Awful. Simply awful. I've often tried to get Craig to buy a new pair and he insisted that they were still good. Apparently, his mom wanted to throw them away when he was in high school. To put this in perspective, Craig graduated high school in 1992, so at the very least, they were intended for the dumpster 15 years ago.

Today, while shopping at Wal-Mart, Craig found his dream replacement pair. And you guessed it, they are awful. He thinks they are perfect for the cabin. He didn't even want to wait until they went on sale because he thought they would sell out.

Again, with the awful slippers, but they make him happy! I don't know why.
At least this pair is in the garbage now...
In other cabin news, Craig installed many blinds this weekend. There are now officially more windows with blinds than without. We took advantage of Veteran's Day sales at Home Depot and purchased seven blinds the other weekend. So, while I blew the leaves off the driveway, Craig installed blind after blind. It's really exciting!!!!!
The loft is finished! Well, sort of. If you look closely, you'll see a light fixture dome (on the ground) uninstalled. The light itself is installed, but we need to do some trim work around the attic opening before we install the dome (because it bumps up right against the opening). We only lack two blinds to the upstairs (minus the bathrooms) and then we'll need to recarpet. We don't want to invest in carpet when the sun will shine through and bleach the color. It's amazing what a coat of paint and blinds did to transform this room. Furniture will have to wait, but for now, we're pleased with the progress.
