Super squash

One of our neighbors brings us homegrown vegetables. We're incredibly grateful. Sometimes we're surprised at the contents. Sunday, we received squash.
You probably cannot fathom the size of the squash, so I compared it to a common kitchen item. Behold, behemoth squash. Apparently, the gardener went out of town and when he returned, he saw a bounty.
I didn't know what to do with it, but I wanted to marinate part of it overnight in something, so I started slicing. But then tonight's dinner needed tending to and when I went back to slicing, I saw how beautiful the squash looked. A food designer couldn't have done better than nature. The moisture in the squash started to come out.

Click on the images to enlarge the detail. I dare you.
Beautiful and yummy.

Sort of reminds me of Veggie Tales' "Dave and the Giant Pickle." Josh is actually afraid of the giant pickle Goliath, so we don't watch it anymore. I think I might be afraid of that thing, too. lol It's really amazing!
