It's been a while since I updated the ol' blog and the honest truth is that we've just been really busy. This will be text only. Pictures to follow!
After Mother's Day, I went to on my first trip away from Madeline (for work). Then, my sister Katie visited for eight days. While she was here, I wasn't going to spend any more time on the computer than I needed. I still had to work most of the time and there wasn't time for blogging. Then, I got into a very minor car accident (while Katie and Madeline were in the car with me). Work has just been really busy for both Craig and me; I'm working on a very large grant and since I've NEVER applied for a federal grant before, it's a task I've had a HUGE learning curve on. We've been to the zoo and spent the weekends together and I avoid computer time on the weekends. I spend nearly all day in front of a computer screen and it's quickly becoming mundane
But so much good has happened in the blogging hiatus. The visit with Katie was wonderful and Madeline says "Aunt Katie" perfectly. It's one of the only names she doesn't mess up besides mama and daddy. Katie taught her new tricks and sounds and played with her - a lot. Katie and I went shopping and tried a horrible deli that I will never go to again. Katie experienced Madeline's first visit to the zoo and helped me bake cupcakes.
And since I was gone for two complete days and Madeline survived without my milk, we've started weaning Madeline. She was nursing twice a day - before her nap and at bedtime. It's been 6 days now since she nursed prior to her nap and I can officially say that's she's been OK with it. She does ask me for milk, but she has gone to sleep on her own every afternoon just fine. I suspect that my office is going to want me to visit more and more and flying with the pump isn't something I want to do, nor is pumping while I'm away. I'd like to not worry with it. Craig can take over the entire night time routine when the time comes.
Work beacons me, so I must go, but I wanted one last post in May before June hits.
