Craig and I have decided that it's best for me to quit my job.
So I did that this week.
Although, I'm going back today (I wrote this post the past week and set it to publish today) for a little while to ensure a proper turnover and to pass along my projects.
This has been a very difficult decision for me for more than a few reasons. Baylor has been extremely good for us financially and if I continue with them, it would be extremely good for our kids' education (educational benefits are perfect, to say the least). I also love who I work for and what I do. Not many people can say that, especially in this economy. Jobs are scarce and Craig and I both have great ones. Talk about a blessing! My boss has a vision for Baylor and I respect him so very much. It is really easy to work for someone you respect and believe in following. How lucky am I? I went from my air force job, to the Baylor job and I loved them both. And now? Well, now I get to work at another job I love - being a mom. We are in a season in life that is brief and me staying home is now part of that season.
I have to admit that I don't like the term "stay-at-home-mom" or SAHM. I have my reasons and maybe I'll share them here one day, but I don't want to be labeled as a SAHM. And I'm not going to find articles and studies that showcase how much a SAHM should be paid, because I personally think those studies are a waste of money and time. I'm not going to put a value on me staying home to justify me doing so. The two little faces I see every morning are value enough. I inherently believe that (most) mothers do what is best for their kids, whether they choose to (or have to) work outside the home, or whether they choose to (or have to) stay home with the kids.
I was a mom while I worked from home, and I'm a mom now that I've chosen to quit my paying job and be home with the kids.
Now, who wants to join with me in praying for the cabin to sell soon! :-)

Will be in prayer about the cabin and the car, and for blessings in the newest manifestation of your mothering/parenting role. You'll have to be sure to share what kinds of things you do with M during the day so that I can survive my summers!
