I've been trying to do a fun, inexpensive one-on-one task with Madeline daily now for a while. It has been messy and memorable, that's for sure! Some days, we just go get a special lemonade, but other days take a little more effort.
We've made homemade play-doh.
We've made a HUGE mess with my dusty cornmeal.
We've made a homemade bubble blower.
We've made biscuits. And cookies. And lots of other things.
We've "painted" with water on the concrete pad out back.
We've painted. A lot.
We've gone to the library for reading hour.
We've had lunch with Daddy.
In a nut shell, we've made mess after mess.
And you know what? There will be plenty of time for a clean house. The kids will eventually move out and on their own and I'll have a surplus of time to do laundry.
But today? Today is brief. Today, we're building a fort out of the couch cushions. Maybe I'll regret it later when she pulls the cushions off over and over again, but I don't think so. Today is going to be fun.

The cornmeal was always a favorite for you kids on rainy days. And your house is an easier clean up all the way around. Fort makes me smile.
