It is so trite to say that I don't know where the time has gone, but I really, really don't know where the time has gone!
Gabe is 10 months old!
He's my sweetie. Except when he bites me. Then he's a vampire and it hurts.
But mostly, he's my sweetie.
Gabe is excellent at self-play. Probably due in part to being the second born, but I'll take it. I love, love, love how excited he gets when he hears the bath water running. He gimp crawls as fast as he can to the tub, pulls himself up, and begins to talk to the running water. He's equally mad when I take him out. haha.
Little man has seven teeth now. Four on the top and three on the bottom. They poked through sometime in the past month and gave him issues before they erupted. Between teething and being sick, he's been waking up every other hour at night for nearly a month now. He will sometimes give me a three hour stretch, but if I get that one night, I surely won't get it the next. I'm one tired mama. I feel that he's now accustomed to waking so much, but I'll (and Craig) deal with that later.
We went to Florida for Thanksgiving and I learned that Gabe is so much more adaptable to new situations than Madeline ever was. The first day was a little rough, to be expected, but he took to the pack n play and different scenery exceedingly well. Gives me great hope for Christmas break in Houston. I'm looking forward to a few nights out sans kids and I'll be able to enjoy it because he's so easy going.
He wants whatever Madeline has. And she doesn't like it one bit. Where she is, he is surely to follow. Poor kid(s). I stand back and watch until things get a little rough, but they both keep their own fairly well. They do play with each other, but until Gabe stops pulling Madeline's hair and going face-first, mouth wide open ripe for a bite, things will be rough.
One of Gabe's favorite activities is opening and shutting the cabinet doors, or doors, or the toilet seat. I've also seen him eating the toilet seat. And shoes. Oh my goodness, he loves to eat shoes. Oi.
He's starting to show signs of climbing. He's not there yet, but I foresee it being a 10 month development. He crawled inside the suitcase and I've caught him inside the dish washer (I was unloading it and he was hitting the door one minute and then had kneed on it the next).
He has the biggest thighs ever. He is one solid kiddo. And I love this rolls and multiple chins and the fact that his eyes disappear when he's in a full body laugh. Madeline and Craig make him laugh the loudest and longest. (Swoon!).
I can't wait to see what the next two months bring until he's (GASP!) a year old!

He comes by the chewing shoes naturally. Surprised he is not chewing and sucking on big toes like all 4 of you did! Straight for dad's big toe every time. He sounds so much like you 4 babies - into everything and the sky is the limit. Cannot wait to see my little grandbabies!!!!! This is so tough having yall so far away.
