Let the demolition begin

Official demolition has begun on the cabin.

Until this past weekend, we usually spend time painting or cleaning, now the real fun has begun. We started to remove carpet and baseboards from the downstairs office. I really enjoyed pulling the carpet up and exposing the bare floor. It actually took less time to tear up everything in the room than it did to remove the furniture. Craig says it reminds him of when he used go up to the cabin as a kid...he also says it feels like we're taking a step backward. We're hoping to finish painting this weekend and start installing the wood floor!

Before...

During...

Craig tearing up the carpet tack board and me tearing up the carpet!

After...
I know folks, he's taken...I told him to wear better shoes....*sigh*

I'm wearing the best slippers in the world; I've had them for years and they have personality. Perfect cabin slippers - they have at least another 2 years of life in them!

so, those are bad shoes indeed. Sorry, Craig. Are you allowed to make such drastic changes on a lease? Or are your landlords begging you to freshen up the place? Or is this some other place entirely ... I can't keep up with your properties!

This is our cabin...or at least in 30 years, we will own it.
