One day at a time

So I have begun working out again. I love working out, but sometimes I just get lazy. When I was in the Air Force, working out was easy-peasy. I was allowed to work out during business hours - in fact, that was encouraged. I had multiple gyms to choose from, wonderful running tracks outside, and an endless supply of work out buddies to keep me going.

Running is my #1 preferred activity. I love it. Unlike most people, I actually prefer to run on a circular track. I like the fact that I can time my progress every quarter mile and I know exactly how much I've run. Round and round I would go and enjoy every minute of it.

I have moved my running indoors and it is B-O-R-I-N-G. I don't like seeing my reflection as I sweat away, and with no TV in my small apartment "work out" facility, it gets monotonous really quick. Somewhere I have a set of headphones...but maybe it's time to invest in an iPod. I honestly don't remember the last time I saw someone wearing headphones connected to anything other than an iPod...

Running indoors is a smart choice though, because I have come to the realization that my bum hip needs the TLC of a no-impact elliptical machine. So indoors I will stay.
