Vista vs XP

I know which program wins in the end. I am open to change, however, after using Vista for a couple of weeks, my conclusion is pretty definitive. I want XP back. Microsoft is pretty smart though, because uninstalling the OS and reinstalling XP isn't as straight forward as it should be. I do believe it can be done, but my limited IT expertise just doesn't cut it. It's a smart move on Microsoft's part because it forces people to purchase the Vista Office. Craig thinks Google will overtake Microsoft in the future. I would not mind that :-)

If you like GUI prettiness, then you will love Vista. It is a pretty program and from the trial of Office I had with the laptop, I noticed many user-friendly enhancements have been made to the programs.

I, however, can deal with a less-pretty program. The new laptop has 4GB RAM and should run lightening fast. My old laptop had 1.24 GB RAM. Basic math indicates that the new laptop blows the old outta the water. While using just the Internet, the new laptop is pretty fast. Open another program and things halt. It's like using dial up! The old laptop actually ran faster. Since I work from home, I typically have three programs open at a time.

*sigh*

you and my dad should totally form a "Vista Haters" club. he LOATHES it.

i actually don't mind it at all. then again, i only use my laptop for internet, so i don't really mess around with the features too much.
