Giving thanks

Craig and I spent Thanksgiving with his family in Miami. Talk about a whirlwind of a trip! We left Wednesday afternoon to break up the drive and arrived in the Miami area around 1 pm Thanksgiving day. Joe, Craig's uncle, put the turkey in the fryer and soon the wonderful smell of a fried turkey began filling our noses!
While the turkey fried, the family spent time together, we caught up on the past year, shared photos, and enjoyed the weather. (Seriously, the weather was perfect, especially compared to our weather here). Here's a few family pictures.
I brought my tripod so I could take a group shot (and actually be in front of the camera for once). Notice our smiles...we were filled with Thanksgiving goodness and desserts!
So Joe and Nancy's house is on the water. I woke up Saturday morning and grabbed my coffee and went outside to enjoy the weather and view. Joe was going for a morning ski with his friend Jim and I tagged along for the ride and snapped some fun shots of Joe. Now, I can ski, but don't ask me to cross the wake.
We left for the drive back early Sunday morning. Craig was so sweet and had already reclined my seat because he knew I would still be tired. I missed the first hour or so of the trip while Craig made great progress. Around noon, the progress was bad...really bad. We hit traffic, wrecks and torrential rain. When it was all said and done, we averaged around 53 miles per hour - and that doesn't even include any of our stops. It was a really long drive, but we did make it back home. Getting back in my own bed was divine and I crashed around 9 pm and didn't stir for hours and hours.

We are certainly glad we made the trip to Miami to see our extended family!!! We miss them...and the weather!
