Not all that bad

Friday's classes were not all that bad. Craig thinks the instructor is a hippy, but I think she is just passionate about what she teaches. Which, when you're shelling out more than $300 for a class, is a good thing in my book. In addition, the people in my class seem fairly level-headed. We all deliver around the same time, except for one couple who delivers in July. I hope they can make it through classes!

I think the classes are going to be very informative. I know I could have just read the books and that may have worked well for other people, but for Craig and me, this is the way to go. The husband's coach role in labor (especially in Bradley Method) is very hands-on and for Craig and me to be informed together is great. He's already keeping me accountable on nutrition/exercise issues and spending the time with him in the class is also nice. We get away from our normal lives and spend two and a half hours thinking solely about our baby. I am the incubator, but that doesn't mean Craig can't be involved. I am so lucky to have a husband who is willing to sit next to me for more than two hours on a Friday night, listening to a woman talk about Kegel exercises, natural birth and breastfeeding.

I know that I can hear other people's birthing stories, watch the videos in class, read books, pour the internet and collect tidbits of information to help me prepare for this birth. But I like doing this with Craig. This is our baby, and to know that he is beside me every step of the way relieves some of the pressure off me.

You can't put a price on that.

Amen, amen, amen. And that, darling, is why we went the Bradley way as far as education. There is nothing like having the big person you love most right beside you as you deliver the little person you love the most. I'm pretty sure my heart is still in melting mode because I just love, love, love watching Eli sing and coo to our little one. That will never get old. :)
