As the cabinets went up, I got more and more excited! We were not quite certain what they would look like on the wall because no one around us has done this. The artist rendition was good to look at, but until the went up on the wall, we were not sure it would look good.
I have to admit that it was painful to see Craig rip another hole in our home. You'd think we'd learn our lesson the first time. At least this hole IS completely necessary. We need to run electrical above the counter tops. As an added bonus, we won't need to repair this hole since the base cabinets will cover it up!

First cabinet going up!
And there's the second!
And the third!
And the finishing touches!
The verdict? Yes, it does look good! It actually looks like the house was built like this, not an addition. If you look closely, you can see that the cabinet finish of the new cabinets is slightly different than the old cabinets, but unless you knew to look, you'd never notice.Craig will work on the electrical next and run two outlets above where the base cabinets will go. It's very handy to have an electrician for a dad. I've called him and asked what we need to do and he told us the residential codes we need to follow. Then, the base cabinets will go in and then we order the counter top!
I love my handy man. And I love the extra storage!
Oh, and I am officially 9 months pregnant today. Four more weeks....maybe less...maybe more, but we'll be parents soon!
