At 22 months...

I'm a little late for an update on Madeline, but I don't want to forget what the past month has been like in our little girl's life. She's obviously not changing as much as fast anymore, but there are still some notable milestones.

I think she's cutting her two year molars. Last teeth! Whoo-hoo!

Her vocabulary is exploding still and I'm amazed that she remembers words she's only repeated back once. She recently discovered a robot in a book and is on a robot hunt in all her books. She's putting more and more words together, but at times it turns into a jumble of words ending with one recognizable word. Hilarious.

And speaking of hilarious. She is very aware when things are "punny." The cat chasing its tail send her into a laughing fit and she keeps saying "punny kitty-cat."

We turned her car seat forward this past month. She got car sick (reeaaallllly bad) so we had to remove the car seat, disassemble it and wash it. Craig has it down to an art and it actually doesn't take him long anymore, but it's still a daunting task. So, shortly before she turned 22 months, we flipped it around. She didn't really seem to care too much, but she does like to point out all the buses on the road (any big truck) and insists on seeing a bus whenever we go out. Thankfully, there's no shortage of big-rigs on the road to placate that desire.

Her Spanish is taking off. For now, I can keep up since it's basic vocabulary, but I do have to ask Craig to remind me sometimes. One of her favorite things to say right now is, "Shoes! Zapatos! Sandals!"

She loves all things animal, bubbles, going outside, is starting to get into coloring now (and tries to find the white crayon every time...she's still learning her colors and it'll come naturally without me pushing it), balloons, and reading books (I get my cuddle time then! Madeline is NOT a cuddle-bug). She's turned into a picky eater, but eats a ton of fruit. Oh, and she had her first chicken nugget yesterday. She wasn't too impressed, so I'll just stick to grilled for her. She still doesn't drink cow's milk but loves her water. I'm working on reducing the amount of crackers and cereal she eats. If she's hungry, she always asks for some crackers or cereal or Cheerios. I'm offering her carrots or fruit or avocado on toast. She wasn't too pleased at first, but I think the constant hunger is starting to get to her and she's eating the alternative more and more now.

She's such a joy, so much fun and brings so much light into our lives!

With her cousin Gabriela...She was none to happy that I was holding another baby. She kept saying "all done baby, bye-bye baby, cuddle mama." And when Gabriela reached up and grabbed Madeline's ear....her face says it all.
