For Gabriel

I've been reflecting on the NICU stay...it's hard not to.  Gabriel is healthy and acting like a normal newborn now. We have so much to be grateful for.

I want to remember the feeling I had when we drove away from the hospital with Gabe in the back seat. I want to be able to share with my kids, especially Gabe, that what happened after he was born and the 10 days in the NICU was a miracle.  So, if you prayed for Gabe during that time, please leave a comment.  I know there were lots of prayers lifted up on his behalf and I would love to hear your thoughts, and also have something to read/reflect upon with Gabe and Madeline as they get older.

Gabe, you are such a blessed little man. At only hours old, you had people praying for you all over the country! We prayed for you to get healthy, and for strength and peace for your sweet mama and daddy. All those prayers were answered and we cannot wait to see what God will do with your life!

Gabriel, I said numerous prayers that God would send his angels to watch over you, and that He would bless the doctors, nurses, and staff taking care of you.

You are such a blessing to your family, and we're so glad you are a healthy boy!

Kunard family--it was such a privilege to lift you up in your time of trial! What a blessing it is to have this medium (and facebook) to instantly be able to share with others and have other lift us up. I am so happy I met your mommy at Baylor and that we have reconnected. I am even more excited that your NICU stay went well and you are a happy, healthy little boy being raised by God loving parents!

Gabriel,

We were so honored to pray for your safe arrival into the world, and to continue to pray for your safe arrival home into the arms of your family. We prayed for Madeline's contentment as she waited for you and your parents to come home and find the new normal, and we prayed for your parents as we knew their hearts were wrenched that you couldn't be together.

We praised the Lord for the NICU staff and the doctors for taking such good care of you, and we rejoiced with your parents when you were able to come home.

You and your sister are so loved!

It was an honor to lift all of you up during Gabe's NICU stay. Praising God greatly that he answered our prayers with a yes and that he's now a healthy boy.
