It was a quick trip to the cabin this weekend, but a very productive one. The trim and quarter round were finally installed in the study and the furniture moved in. Here's a before and after shot.

We even replaced the outlets and outlet covers from beige to white to match the trim and blinds. It's a small thing, but it finishes off the room nicely.

I can't believe we have one room completely finished! Granted, it's the smallest room...but it is done.

well done!
i want to put on some socks, come over and slide all over that floor. ;)
Sliding around sounds like fun... Sorry, but you will just have to move all the furniture back out again so that we can slide around in our socks!
I'll wait until we install the wood floor in the main kitchen/dining/living area...then you can all come over with your socks...
That looks so amazing, Jen n Craig. All your descriptions made it sound so much more 'rustic'! Which is fine, but this is definitely a nice cushy vacay spot.
And - here's the version that works best. Greg reconnoitered (yes, he used that word) the botanical gardens in Huntsville a couple weeks ago. It was also about the time he tried to make me take the claddagh as my engagement ring and I yelled at him that I wanted something sparkly and he said he wanted to save money to buy me a decent ring, and that we would look for rings when I was visiting.
So Friday we went to the gardens and I brought my camera.
Lots of little kids were around. He kept wanting to sit and look at wherever we stopped at, which was fine but I was antsy and wanted to take pics of everything.
Well, everytime we paused at a new place, more people came around so we just kept moving.
He said he saw the amphitheater on his scouting mission but didn't take it into consideration.
Again, I had no clue why he was really dragging me everywhere.
So the amphitheater was the last place we stopped and it was empty and we got on the stage and he carved our names into the column while I stood watch.
Then he got down on one knee and pulled out a box and said something that I don't remember and I said yes twice and cried a little (so unlike me) and the ring was huge and not what I picked out but I love it.
Except it was a princess cut center stone and I wanted a round center stone so we went back and they had the exact same ring with a round stone so we exchanged it and he teased me about it the rest of the weekend.
The next best part was all the free food and beer we got because 1-it was his birthday, 2-we were engaged and 3-he was in uniform on Friday.
Oooo.. I likey! :-) I especially love the color of the floor. Good work!
