Cirque du Soleil

Wow! A birthday recap is in order, as well as a thanks to Craig for his wonderful gift! Kooza was fantastic and painful to watch at the same time. It's definitely a step up from the Big Top I attended when I was a kid.

The audience interaction was hilarious and I am grateful I was not chosen to participate on stage. And that I was not sitting on the front row where the human-in-a-dog-costume "peed."

The photography police were in full force and would reprimand anyone who took pictures, thus, I took all these photos from the Cirque du Soleil website.

I've narrowed my favorite acts down to the contortionist act and the juggling act. Now, I know juggling doesn't seem all that interesting, but man, I tell you!!!! It was jaw-dropping, ahhh-inspiring and mind-boggling at the same time!
I've never seen a juggler get so many items in the air and multi-task other things at the same time. This guy bounced a ball on his forehead/head/chin and juggled all types of items - rings, balls, bowling pins - at the same time. To top it off, he once placed the rings on his head between each bounce of the ball. Wow.

Now, the contortionist team was hard to not look at and not feel pain.
This picture doesn't do this team justice. The way they positioned and balanced their bodies on each other was incredibly painful to look at. At one point, one of the ladies literally ran around her own head. I don't know how she did it, but it made the entire audience writhe in pain. Just by looking at it.

Other honorable mention acts included the unicyclist dancing with his lady in a love song. Talk about trust. He would lift her entire body above his head and ride around circles.
These guys were pretty cool, too. I wish I could have jumped on the ramp and made someome flip in the air!I think this picture explains the neatness of this act. Let's just say they were really high up and the net was brought out underneath them, just in case. But, they didn't need it!Thanks for the wonderful evening, Craig! I love you more than you know!!!
