Ahhhh....relief

Since I originally posted the (un)glorious sides of my pregnancy, I have actually had some relief. For the past week or so, I have not been gagging (as much) as I did previously during this pregnancy. I can even brush without gagging sometimes! Honestly, out of all the pregnancy-related symptoms that I've experienced, this has been one of the worst for me to deal with. In fact, the only times I actually lost my stomach contents was after brushing my pearly whites. I am also getting more sleep at night. I still have my bad nights, but things are definitely improving. I am so very grateful for this respite and am going to enjoy it while it lasts. Ahhhhh, sweet, sweet relief.

I also feel like our days are ticking away very fast right now. With the upcoming move, the need to pack prior to moving and unpack after moving, filling out hospital paperwork, all the paperwork for the house, the need to register for birthing classes, general preparation for this baby (and I am kind of OCD in checking the safety of items - I have five books on my night stand!), putting felt on the bottom of all our downstairs furniture so we don't scratch the floor, and on and on and on...

In the midst of all this, we did manage to plant our tomato plants and have added yellow bell peppers to the vegetation for this summer. We grow our plants in pots, but hopefully next summer we can plant a little more since we will have some grass/ground to work with. We also looked for, and probably found, a fridge for the town home. In addition, we purchased a kitchen table and have been looking at rugs for the wood floor. Jury is still out on whether or not we're going to put down a rug in the dining room, but we definitely need something in the living room. We actually drove up to Dalton, the carpet capitol of the world (or something like that), and are more than likely going to purchase a carpet remnant and have the edges wrapped. We can get a large rug for a very good price this way, and it will look nice. Besides, having Craig and me agree on a patterned rug would have been almost impossible.

At least our town home really is move-in ready. The pictures really don't lie and it is pretty clean. We'll eventually slap some more color on the walls, but the neutral color will do for now. I will go around and clean the place top to bottom before we move in...anyone have any ideas on how to clean a wood floor easily and fairly cheaply? I've never really had to deal with a wood floor.

OK, that's all my rambling for now.

wooden floor:

It is a modern floor (after 1950's ish) and has been varnished, you can use the current floor cleaners..I really like swifer jets.

To be REALLY clean and chemical free - you can use home white vinegar with water (about 1:20 dilution) and use rags to wipe down the floor. This method is a bit stinky when you first start (the vinegar smell) but it actually gets rid of the mildewy smell wooden floors get over time and is super environmental and baby friendly (this latter part I am guessing since its all natural, and not chemical stuff)

I'm a big fan of vinegar/water for cleaning, and I have other friends that use it on their wood floors. It has anti-bacterial properties, too. I finally broke out the clorox wipes and chemical cleaners this past week when we were dealing with a stomach bug, and couldn't believe how STRONG and icky they smelled!

I took Se's suggestion and started looking for recipes for cleaning solutions made out of vinegar or baking soda. There are tons!! My main sources of frustration are a water heater that leaked right after hurricane ike and our bathroom, which has no windows for good ventilation. I'm hoping Se's right and the vinegar kills the mildew smell, which is currently killing me :)
