Apparently, according to Craig, my belly popped last week.

From 20-21 weeks...
I know I feel bigger and my skin feels to be stretching and my belly button is flattening out. I need to take a front picture to show that point of view...especially before the linea nigra gets dark. The line started to show up a few weeks ago and spans the entire length of my belly. It's not too dark, yet. My belly is also free of stretch marks, which I cannot say about other parts of my body. Honestly, I noticed my first stretch marks at 12 weeks. I had only gained around 3-4 pounds and was still wearing my regular clothes. The midwife told me that if I got them that early, that my belly was doomed. (well, "doomed" is my word choice, but she basically told me that I'll get 'em.) I do think my belly button will completely flatten versus pop out. My surgery scar runs lengthwise in my belly button and I think it will prevent it from popping out. It's weird, this is the first time I've really seen the scar. My belly button was too deep before to really notice it!Oh, and remember this?
Well this is what happens. I warned him...
Craig says he'll still wear Hutch on his shoulders. Not very smart if you ask me.

The whole linea negra thing is so bizarre. I thought maybe I wouldn't get it because I'm so pale, but no, I got it with both boys. I can't remember when, but I know it didn't appear until later in the pregnancy with the younger one. It would linger for a little while after I had them, too...but no sign of it now. I didn't get belly stetchmarks until the very end....like late enough to think I was in the clear. HA! Not so much... Oh, and while my belly button disappeared both times, I never had an outie.
Eli tortures our cats the same way. He made the mistake of picking up the little cat (the one with all the claws!) and "for fun" decided to blow raspberries on his belly. Needless to say, the cat was startled and made a run for it. Eli ended up with claw marks on his shoulders, face, and neck from that cat trying to get away.
Boys. They never learn. :)
Boys. It didn't help that we have not cut the cat's claws in a few weeks so they are nice and sharp. He has come up with some funny "games" with the cats though. They tolerate Craig's antics, but I can tell they are just annoyed with him. Last night, he threw a pair of clean and folded socks at Hutch and Hutch jumped about two feet straight in the air, backwards...I admit it was really funny!
You're probably right about the belly button. I've had laparoscopic surgery too and mine never popped with Joshua, though the scar did become much more prominent. This time around, it has already flattened out, so who knows, it might pop this time since every thing else is already so stretched out!
Oh, and if your stretch marks are super itchy like mine are, Aveeno has a good lotion for them. It's something like 'serious dry and itchy skin' formula. I like it better than the pregnancy specific ones that have a ton of lanolin in them, which makes me break out.
