I love this age

But I also hate this age.

You may think I am talking about Madeline, but I'm actually talking about me.

This is the age where you start your own families. New beginnings and new wonder. New excitement and new love.

But this is also the age where you begin to lose grandparents.

There seems to be seasons in life. People generally get married around the same time, have kids around the same time. It's not finite, but there definitely appear to be seasons.

I am one of the lucky ones. I am 30 and I still have a grandparent. My Granny. Madeline's GiGi. I love her to pieces.
It was wonderful to see her meet her first great grandchild. I am so thankful for going to Houston a couple of weeks ago.

My Granny had a stroke yesterday and is in ICU. It's no fun to hear the pain in my family's voices. It's no fun being here when she is there. We are praying. She is showing positive signs and I am holding on to hope.

If you will, will you pray?

You have no idea how much you are loved, Granny.

Definitely praying for your Grandma.

I always take for granted having very young grandparents and having 3 of the 4 of them still all alive, though David has lost all of his, having a more normal time between generations than my side. Unfortunately, family relationships are not good and I don't get to see any of them, ever, and they've never met their great-grandchildren. Maybe in Heaven... it breaks my heart that on my side, family relationships are so complicated.
