Come on, sing it with me...
Houston means that I'm one day closer to you....
OK, maybe not.
I went to Houston this past weekend. I didn't tell anyone. Not even my best friend.
This past weekend needed to be family time and I didn't need to feel burdened trying to fit everyone in, so don't leave me a nasty comment if you're my friend and live in Houston :-)
I met my newest nephew. I got to hold him and kiss him and smell his head. He has the sweetest little grunts. It's simply amazing how quickly I've forgotten how small a baby can be. Madeline was never as small as Ethan and he feels light as a feather compared to her.
I also spent time with my Granny and she got to hold Madeline again. She seemed really happy to see her (and me). I even evoked a "GiGi" out of her before we left. I love how she lit up when she saw her great granddaughter.
It was a really, really good trip. A much-needed trip.
Pictures forthcoming...I can't get them off the DVD my dad burned for me.

I'm guilty of similar trips. It's different when you have kids and harder when both sets of grandparents live in the same city.
