My rolling darling

Man, oh man. She's almost mobile.

Madeline is a little show off and a stubborn one at that! Craig saw Madeline roll from her back to her belly on December 28, just shy of three and a half months. She rolled from her belly to her back a few days prior to turning two months. Last night was the first time since she rolled to her belly that I saw it and she continued to repeat the action. She doesn't quite know what to do with her right arm (updated, she learned today!), and I've only seen her roll over her left shoulder. She hoists her legs up in the air and uses them for momentum. Now, it's common for her to flip to her other side when she is placed down on the floor. I told you she was stubborn!

Let's just say that I'm not ready for her to be rolling! Can I push the pause button? I'm thrilled she's discovering her world and taking everything in, but I'm just not ready. For two reasons.

We're certainly not baby-proofed yet! And I want my snugly baby to stay around for a while longer.

Incidentally, at her middle of the night feeding, I put her on her side (like I normally do) and she immediately flipped the rest of the way to her belly on her own. I had a sneaky suspicion that she always wanted to be a belly sleeper, but I wasn't willing to allow her to do that until she could get there on her own.

I wonder how long it will take her to figure out that she can roll in one direction to get to things?
