First, we went to a pumpkin patch. I searched for one near our city and kept coming up with ones far away. Finally, I found one about 45 minutes away. I had wanted one that was a tad bigger than last year. Well, the patch was a disappointment, but Madeline had fun nonetheless. Grandpa, grandma and Josie and Nick all joined us and we had dinner together afterwards. Madeline loved the pumpkins and just walking around. She didn't love the hayride at first, but ended up doing just fine.
The next weekend, we headed north to the Apple Festival. The only year Craig and I didn't make it was in 2009 when Madeline was a month old. As predicted, the fair grounds got much too small as the hours progressed and by noon, it was nearly impossible to even walk. We did manage to eat fried apple pies and take home apple bread. Madeline didn't want to ride the donkeys/ponies, but she was brave enough to ride the slide with daddy. In fact, she said "again!" once they made it to the bottom. I'm not surprised!
We tried to get her to nap at the cabin, but that was a waste of time and we pulled the plug on the nap and decided to drive home. Within minutes she was asleep and slept nearly the entire trip home.
October has been really busy, but lots of fun. Craig and I are enjoying the last few months as a family of three. Alone time with Madeline is going to get harder and harder, so these times are precious to us. Lots of snuggles in bed, extra books and playtime is in order until nameless baby boy arrives (I will say that Craig and I agree that two names are good...so we are getting somewhere!). Gabriel is still in the running as well as Jude. I have no idea for a middle name for Jude though!

ooo...'Jude' I like 'Jude'. A jem book in the Bible that no one ever talks about but still important. kinda like Nahum, or Obadiah, or Hosea but better sounding. (No offense to the original or any 'Obadiah's out there) - Watch, I will probably end up naming my child 'Obadiah' now as I type this...
I like 'Jude'...
