I'm sure this will be b-o-r-i-n-g for most of you, but I'd like to remember the differences in these pregnancies.
Baby boy is giving me some heartburn/reflux issues. They are not too bad (quite tolerable actually), but I did not experience this at all with Madeline.
I do not have the linea negra. I know it can still show up, but I had it with Madeline prior to finding out her gender at 19 weeks. I'm totally OK with it not showing up.
My nails seem to be going nutso with the prenatal vitamins this time around, I remember them being stronger with Madeline, but not growing this fast.
Baby boy made me much sicker than Madeline. I was also completely exhausted and just nauseated pretty much the entire first trimester and into the second with him. The exhaustion could be attributed to the fact that I am pregnant while caring for an active toddler. That'll wear anyone out! I felt nauseated with Madeline, but not as bad as with this little one.
However, I am not nearly as gag-prone while brushing my teeth this time around as I was last time around. Phew! I really didn't like the gagging.
First trimester I was an insomniac with both these babies.
But second trimester I am sleeping better with this little man. :-) That makes me hopeful I'll sleep better the third trimester with him, too!
I'm carrying/carried both high - and I think little boy is higher than Madeline. That could be one reason I'm sleeping better - not as many trips to the bathroom. I get winded very easily.
He's not as active as Madeline, but I'm feeling him more and more and more. And I think he's long. I feel bumps on both sides of my belly (maybe he's a stretcher! We'll see when he comes out!)
I'm craving milk. Lots of milk. The only craving I had with Madeline was banana peppers and I'd dice them into everything. Craig thought it was gross. I also craved lemony things at the beginning with him, but that's gone now.
My wedding ring still fits very well. Around this time was when my ring started to get tight with Madeline. But I blame that mostly on the fact that the weather is cooler and it was June/July the first time around. I retained A LOT of water with Madeline. I'm hoping being large in the winter will keep that at bay.
My feet hurt. They hurt with Madeline, too. Walking on wood/tile floors while downstairs makes them hurt bad. It's worse on the weekends when we all spend more time downstairs. Makes sense.
I feel like I'm already waddling and I'm not *that* huge yet. I'm going to perfect the penguin walk in a couple of months! ha!
Despite the fact that my fundal height is spot on (according to my 24 week appointment), I feel like I'm about 3-4 weeks ahead in size the second time around.
That's all I can think of for now...more to come since I still have 15 weeks to go!

maybe sleeping better with Baby Boy will translate into Baby Boy sleeping better

Your pregnancies sound like they are very rough on you. I never experienced the sleeplessness, but did experience cravings. And of all things, it was tomatoes with you that I would eat daily like an apple. I did not like tomatoes then, and still do not like them in salads today unless finely diced. Hope your last trimester will pass with minimal discomfort, Jennifer. Love you.
Nah, they're not difficult. I don't suffer from the MANY unpleasant things like constipation and hemorrhoids that many women get. It's all fairly normal and predictable.
