Thoughts

Craig and I went to lunch yesterday and he made the comment that things are really going to change. Yes, my body has transformed the past ten months beyond my wildest expectations, but I've been able to tote this baby around fairly easy. It just takes me longer to tie my shoes now.

We still have not decided on a name. I gave Craig an ultimatum. If I go into labor, all bets are off. I won't discuss name between contractions. I get pusher's privileges: I get to name this baby whatever I want if we don't have a name picked out before going into labor. He can name the next one.

My next appointment is on my actual due date. That's just weird to think about.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm always going to see something that needs to be done prior to the baby's birth. I went out looking for a lampshade last night for her room. Nothing. I did buy more compressed air for the cat deterrent. The familiar sounds of air spraying when a cat gets too curious makes me giggle.

Just when I think my belly can't get any bigger, it does.

I got engaged at 27, married at 28, pregnant at 29 and will become a mother at 30. It's been a busy three years!

People often ask me my due date when I am out and about. Saying, "next week" produces the most shocked looks. I think they are hoping that my water doesn't break in front of them/in their store.

I got paranoid last week that my water would break on our mattress. I went out and bought a plastic cover for the mattress, just in case. I think it was a good investment even though I know your water breaking usually isn't the first sign of labor.

I'm beginning to wonder if this baby will have Craig's eyelashes. I certainly hope so. That and his natural ability to tan. Hopefully the Chilean heritage will give her a nice, non-albino skin tone.

I got the feeling that Craig and I had our last weekend as a couple sans children. But then again, my intuition has been wrong before. However, she could come any day now and I wouldn't mind at all.

LOL! I love the name ultimatum! I wholeheartedly agree - we're doing the hard work and should get the final say on the name :) Good luck with the delivery and I can't wait to see pictures!

I love the ultimatum too! I'm going to remember that next time.... though we haven't had any problems choosing a name so far.

I can't wait to hear her name and see pictures... and I'm also holding out hope that you deliver before me! ;)

The plastic mattress cover is a great! investment! Luckily we had one when Jeff broke my water. It is also great because from now on kids will be on and off your bed and having accidents.

Cannot wait. Maybe I need to pack my bags!

I think the plastic mattress cover will come in handy no matter what! It's been ten months of hurry up and wait, huh? Some days it feels like it went fast, others not so much. I can't wait to hear her arrival story and see pictures :)
