Temper tantrums

Madeline has got a set of pipes on her. The poor nursery workers at church...I think she works them over! She can also turn on a dime. One moment she's happy as a clam and the next moment she's screaming at the top of her lungs. But it also works in reverse. One moment she is screaming and the next moment, she's smiling. It's usually in those latter moments that she has realized that she's not getting her way and she just gives up. She does put on a grand show though, complete with tears and snot and slobber and sobs.

So the other day, I was playing with her in the living room and I wanted to take some pictures of her all happy. There was one problem. The moment she saw the camera, she wanted it. She wanted it in a bad way. The toys all around became uninteresting and forgotten very quickly once she saw the camera. When I wouldn't let her have it, she threw a fit. While I don't enjoy listening to her cry, she needs to learn that crying will not get her her way. It's one thing if she's hurt or needs something from Craig or me, but it's completely different when she's throwing a tantrum. Instead of giving in and letting her play with the camera, I took pictures of her instead. If I only had audio to go with these pictures. These pictures are in order and you can see that she was happy at first!
No matter what face she makes, I love her all the same.

I love these pictures. Dad and I got a good laugh. Your blog is very entertaining. We enjoy it so.

Give my little grandaughter a squeeze and a kiss from her gramma.
