OK, to catch up on a few things. I'm going to be totally lazy and make a bullet list and not form paragraphs or maybe even complete sentences. It's Friday, I can do that.
- We had the concrete patio expanded out back. This was on Craig's must-do list since we moved in. I was more apathetic about it and prioritized other things. Long story short, the original owner went cheap and our concrete patio was very small (half the size of most other patios in this townhouse community). We could fit a grill and that was about it. Well, it's double the size now and our furniture fits nicely, too. Hopefully we'll be able to enjoy some meals outside (read: CRAIG COOKS! HA!) before the weather gets too cold. Afternoons are beautiful this time of the year, so I see some grilled weekend meals coming up soon.
- We attempted to go to the Apple Festival this past weekend. It did not work at all. Madeline got sick in the car and threw up all in her car seat. Twice. We were 20 minutes from the cabin and an hour from our town house, so we opted to keep driving north to the cabin. I bought a thermometer and she wasn't running a fever. I guess she either ate too much oatmeal that morning or got car sick. The sun was in her face as she napped in her car seat (which, by the way, is a complete rarity. She does not sleep in the car.) Who knows how or why she got sick, but we never made it to the festival. Craig was super positive about it all saying he spent the day with his wife and daughter. Sweet. I, however, didn't enjoy my Saturday because I spent half of it wondering if Madeline was really sick (she also got REALLY pale after throwing up) and the other half in a car. Craig did get a few things accomplished at the cabin and I took an afternoon nap, so it wasn't all lost. The festival runs this weekend as well, so we may try again.
- Madeline won't keep hair clips in her hair anymore. She used to not notice them, then about a month ago (around her first birthday), she started pulling them out and eating them. Her hair needs to be pulled out of her face and I don't have the courage to cut her hair yet, so she rocks the Pebbles look everyday now. One day, I got a little band-happy and did this.
She honestly didn't seem to mind.
- I don't think I've mentioned it here, but we're putting the cabin on the market and hope to sell it soon. We never go up there and while it may be a good investment property, we just don't want the extra burden. I hope it sells soon...and profitably. It's definitely not a seller's market.
- I think Madeline could eat her weight in Cheerios. I usually don't feed her a grain at her meals for the simple fact that she eats so many Cheerios. She also loves broccoli. And will eat raw green beans. She'll pick out her green veggies first. Such a good girl. Actually, she'll pick out cheese first if I give it to her, but if cheese isn't on her tray, she'll eat the broccoli.
- She is still waking up a lot at night. And that's all I am going to say about that.
- Madeline does not like cow's milk. I was mixing it with vanilla soy milk and I thought she was going to finally make the transition to cow's milk that way, but she turns her nose up to that too now. I don't know why I thought that I could just drop the afternoon nursing session (prior to a nap) by replacing it with cow's milk. She seriously still loves her breast milk. This is going to be a long transition. I don't mind the before bed nursing session, but I really do want to drop the afternoon session. I've read tons of tips and tricks on introducing cow's milk, but feel free to offer yours if you have any.
- I watched a friend's daughter the other weekend. Two toddlers in my house was a lot of fun...but it certainly doesn't make me want another child anytime soon. haha. Oh, and Elsie can eat. I have no idea where she put it all but she probably ate triple what Madeline ate. Possibly more. And she wasn't picky at all. I was amazed. Elsie also runs. Oh boy. I hadn't thought about that being the next thing Madeline will master. I have pictures of the two girls together, but they are not downloaded. I'll share later :-)
- I told Craig this morning that we better have a boy next go around because I don't think I can handle the drama of two girls. Madeline is a D-R-A-M-A queen and is certainly entered a tantrum phase. I love her to bits and I honestly wouldn't change anything about her, but she does bring on the drama.
- I looked back at a video of Madeline walking from two months ago and am amazed at how much she's improved. We walk hand-in-hand outside most days after work and Madeline is on cloud nine. She loves being outdoors.
- I still don't know what Madeline's eye color will be, but they are beautiful right now. I guess they're hazel. So pretty.

I can't belive Miss M sat still long enough for you to put her hair up! I'm impressed!
And I'm glad you got pictures of the girls. Can't wait to see them!!
