She just didn't know what to do when we got there. There were bright orange things everywhere that needed to be touched!
We let her walk around for about an hour, but it was hot. I ended up taking off her long-sleeved shirt and putting on her Miami Dolphins onesie after a little while. In the shade, it was fine, but way too hot in the sun. At one point, a little girl around four years old thought Madeline was super cute and wanted to touch her hair and hug her. Madeline did not know what to think of this and was overly concerned with the touching and hugging. I couldn't help but laugh.
Once I handed her the tiny pumpkin, she would not let the sucker go. She toted that little pumpkin all over the patch and we ended up bring two home with us. She still plays with it inside and when I ask her to bring me her pumpkin, she happily trots off to find it.
I just lover her expression in the below picture, and I totally realize it is because the sun is in her eyes,
but I still love it! Madeline literally walked around saying, "ooooOOOooooOooOoO" the entire time.
We invited her grandparents to meet up with us at the patch and they happily came. Maybe we'll try a bigger patch with crafts and such next year, but this was perfect for this year.
Oh, and Craig purchased the biggest pumpkin they had at the patch. Seriously. Well, maybe no the biggest, but it is dang huge. I, however, came across a Funkin (fake pumpkin) at Hobby Lobby that I'm totally going to carve. I have never seen these things before but I love the idea of a permanent pumpkin! We'll still carve real pumpkins, but I think this is a neat option! I can't decide if I am going to carve "Happy Halloween" or "Welcome" or "Trick or Treat" into it though...any opinions from all of you?

But Katie, I want a template...I'd have to create something. That's not good.
Craig sounds a lot like Ben... he brought home one of the biggest ones at our patch too. But he refuses to carve it. Mostly because we carve the fake ones too {Michael's has them on sale for 60% off this week!} He did two this year {Darth Vader and some blowing leaves}... and somehow, I haven't posted pics of them yet!ha! We have a "Welcome" one that we love that he did a few years ago... I'll see if I can find the template if you are interested!
