I don't want to forget

I feel like Madeline is learning so much everyday now...and it's completely crazy.

But instead of listing all the words she recites now or how she knows what sounds certain animals make, I want to write down something that I don't want to forget.

Ever since Madeline was born, I've been singing "Jesus loves me" to her. It usually comes up daily - in the car, during a diaper change, while nursing, to calm her down, when she wakes up from a nap - you get the point. I've noticed recently that there are two words she will always repeat back to me when I play the "repeat what mama says game."

Jesus
and
Bible

I can repeatedly ask her to tell me what a dog says and if she doesn't want to tell me, then she will be tight lipped. But if I ask her to say Jesus, she will say Jesus. If I ask her to say Bible, she will say Bible.

It warms my heart that she says those words, and while I know she doesn't know the significance of what they mean, the fact that she says them is very exciting to me. I thought it was just a little thing to calm her when she was upset, but it was really a big thing.
