Ice cream window

So, I am in Waco right now for a work trip. I love coming to Texas and while Waco doesn't feel like home, it's pretty darn close. I know Waco gets a bad rap, but it's usually by people who have never lived here, so what do they know anyway? I digress.

I flew in yesterday and it was a whirlwind of a trip out here. Delays. Flight changes. Attempts to change the flight back. Running down the jet bridge. Snow coming from the air conditioning vents. Maintenance issues. Deplaning. Finally taking off for Waco. I was certain that my luggage wouldn't make it, but it did and I arrived only about two hours after I was originally supposed to! The math didn't add up, but I was thrilled to arrive in Waco...with my luggage!!!!!

Today was my first day in the office. VERY productive and I followed up the day with a nice walk on the Bear Trail. When I got back to my rental car and got in, I noticed that a Popsicle stick had been wedged between my window and the weather stripping on the passenger side. I unrolled the window and tossed the stick. When I rolled back up the window, ice cream smeared all the way up the window. I got out to check out the mess and noticed that melted ice cream was all down the side of the vehicle. Apparently, some student (who else could it be?!?) rammed a full ice cream Popsicle next to the window and let it melt down the sides and all inside the window mechanism. I went to get dinner and while I was waiting for my order, I grabbed some napkins and wet them down. I rubbed down the car as best as I could, but it looks like a foggy mess. Why would someone do this? Granted, I know the damage could be much worse (keying the car, for example), but it's such a childish thing to do. Actually, it's not a childish thing to do because I highly doubt a child would think of something like that. It's just inconsiderate and stupid. Plus, it makes the Baylor students, as a whole, look bad. There are a lot of good students on the campus, but when things like this happen, it taints the overall impression of the student body. I plan on telling the rental car agency so they can clean the window and car better.

So, my trip to Texas has started rough, but has still has some high points. Plus, I still love my Texas.
