Vantage Point
This picture doesn't really capture the brightness of the top three colors. The far right color is so incredibly bright, that I cannot imagine an entire room painted that color. The bottom color is just one that Craig and I liked and contemplated painting the baby's room in it. Yes, it is a blueish color, but there is no rule that says a baby girl's room needs to be pink. The far left color is what Craig and I are leaning towards at the moment, however, it is still very difficult to envision an entire room in that color, too. From our natural light vantage point, these are bright, but from the picture's vantage point, they are more subdued.

The boys rooms are that blue color...maybe a smidge lighter. I would totally rock out some blue (and red and green and orange) if I had a daughter. I love the one on the right, but like you said, not sure I'd like a whole room of it! I think I like the shade on the left best, but only because the middle one is lighter, and I knew someone who painted her daughter's room a similar shade and the room was very neon looking. I like that the left color is more 'green' if that makes sense.
My friend Amy did her daughter Abi's room the bottom half in white bead board with a chair rail and the top half bright turquoise (I actually picked the color since I am her go to person when it comes to colors). Just a thought if you don't want to do a whole thing in a bright color, but I guess it also depends on your crib and furniture color choices.
Our furniture is white/off white, so it will mask some of the brightness, I think. We'll see...there's so much to do that painting the room seems trivial, but I really want her room complete before she arrives. I don't exactly want paint fumes in/around the room where she'll sleep.
