I had a whirlwind trip to Waco and Houston this past week. Two surprise showers later, I felt blessed, spoiled and loved by so many...and wished I had brought a larger suitcase! I somehow managed to get everything back home. More information and pictures forthcoming.
And speaking of home, things are still chaotic here at the new place. I love having a place to call our own, and we now have hot water (yeah!) and gas to power the stove, but we still have a bed on the floor and the AC doesn't work. Despite the fact that we paid for an inspection of this house before we signed the dotted line, the AC unit's brokenness didn't show up in the inspector's report. We really don't know what's wrong with it, it could just need a Freon charge or the line cleared of sediment. Nevertheless, it's hot in this house and Craig and I can barely stand it anymore. I lucked out and a technician is coming today and hopefully it will be a minor repair (in both the monetary and timely senses).
The reality that this baby is coming is hitting me really fast. Did you notice my baby ticker? 99 days...and that's assuming I am still due 09/09/09 and not 09/02/09. It's also JUNE. It's officially the summer and the countdown until we become parents has begun. I still have not registered and keep getting asked to. The baby's room has nothing baby in it and we're barely in the new house. I wish I could wiggle my nose like Samantha and make this place clean and orderly. I think the nesting is going to hit me hard very soon, especially since there's so much more place to nest. If anyone is near me, feel free to come by and help out :-) I promise I'll make cookies.

Sorry about the AC. It's my understanding that in an inspection, they aren't checking everything out...like our AC technically could be replaced, but we had the freon changed, and it should last another year or two. The inspector is only checking the temperature in the coils or something like that. Hope it's something minor. :( And please don't hesitate to give me a call when you register!
I hope the AC is fixed now - nothing like being pregnant AND hot. Sheesh!
And yay for being in the double digits!
oh I am sooo staying upstairs.. Luckily I have things to do and luckily our windows downstairs don't get the direct sunlight. I have everything shut so tight down there. I hope you get cool soon. I am glad it is me waiting two weeks and not you. I hope your pregnancy keeps going well. :) Have a great day!
Hey, that might actually make a good day-trip outing for me and Elsie some time this month (if your A/C gets repaired!). That is, if you wouldn't mind holding the baby while I do some work in your stead? Just let me know when would be good and we will gas up the car and come! It will be good to see you and to get out the urge to set up a nursery since we didn't/don't have one for Elsie. Haha.
Oh, yeah. And you know how I feel about free food. Especially chocolate chip cookies. ;)
So excited for you. The last weeks fly by and seem to crawl all at the same time. I can't wait to 'meet' your little one!
