Then it hit me (again) that she's growing up! My first emotion was excitement, then I quickly felt sad. haha. Teeth mean solid foods and solid foods mean less milk from me. I know it's a reality and I know it's coming and I'm actually ready to start solids at 6 months, but it still made me sad. Then, I moved from sad to a little bit of fear. Will she bite me? muhahaha. Yes, I actually thought that immediately after excitement and sadness.
Moving on.
Something that has been part of our night time routine the past two nights is toe sucking. Madeline has played with her feet before this, but has never reached down and chomped down on a toe. I snapped a picture with my phone the first time it happened while Madeline was playing naked on the changing table. Tonight she reached down and grabbed the foot while I was coating her skin with Aquaphor after her bath. It's too cute.

A tooth? I don't know if I'm jealous or not, but toothy baby grins are so cute. Elsie may make it to a year without any chompers. I've started stressing about having to brush her tooth/teeth when it does happen.
And I laughed aloud at the picture of your toe sucker. You're right. Too cute. Save that for her wedding slide show (or whatever occasion calls for ridiculously cute baby photos). :)
haha! I was thinking the opposite! I LOVE LOVE LOVE her toothless smile and it's about to disappear :-(
Right you are. Bite you she will! I have been bitten many times by each of you and it does hurt. It will shock you! Madeline, when this happens is merely sharing her tooth with you and experimenting. Each time one of you bit me, I'd tell you, 'that hurt'. Then, I would put you down whether or not you were finished nursing. Each of you got the message very quickly.
I cannot wait to see this tooth!
