It started out up at the cabin - in N. Georgia. Craig had invited his dad to visit the cabin while we were talking with him on Skype. Jerry was set to come back from India sometime around the beginning of July. They both agreed that around the Fourth of July a trip was in order because Craig has been promising his dad a grilled steak at the cabin for more than a year now. Craig held true to his promise :-) Craig's dad and sister, Josie, drove up to the cabin July 4th for a grill out and to check out the changes we've made to the place in the past year. We played this great game we had just bought called ladder golf. Believe me, it's a ton of fun.
I know we overdid it on the food but it was good and tasty - grilled steaks, chicken, corn on the cob, rice and apple pie with ice cream. Jerry and Josie stuck around for a little while before heading back home and Craig and I stayed the night at the cabin. It's always so nice to have people up at the cabin! We headed back to home Saturday evening for some quick R&R before the next planned travel.
Sunday we headed the opposite direction to visit Alabama where Jeff (Craig's brother) and his wife, Laura, and their son, Christopher were spending Fourth of July with her family. It was well worth the drive since they live in California and we don't see them often. I've officially seen Christopher three times, at 6 months, 11 months, and now 18 months.
His personality and look has changed so dramatically in the past year! He looks just like his dad as a baby and I wish I had a picture scanned in to compare. It was so much fun to see Craig interact with his nephew and to see Christopher warm up to both Craig and me.

While the we all played horseshoes, Christopher soaked in some sun in the pool with his grandma. He was wearing a regular diaper which quickly adsorbed water and made his bum look giant. Laura told her mom to just take the diaper off. Christopher ran around happy as can be in and out of the pool, while the adults took turns with him in the pool. I was sitting near Laura, who at this point was entertaining her son in the water, and the rest of the adults were sitting in the shade. About this time, Christopher decided he wanted out of the pool because he had swallowed water. He stood in front of his dad, uncle, and grandparents coughing and then all of a sudden started peeing. Craig said the look on his face turned from complete surprise to a huge smile and everyone started laughing. I really wish I had my camera with me to snap a picture of the moment...not to embarrass Christopher when he's older, but to capture the moment because it was really, really funny. This my favorite picture from the festivities because Christopher looks so miserable, but also so incredibly cute. I wonder what he'll look like in another six months...probably even cuter!
