I know Craig doesn't need accolades or recognition for all the work he does, but I'm gonna give it to him anyway.
Not everyone seems to understand why Craig works so hard, especially when that work is directed towards corporate America. The truth is that his company is really getting their money's worth out of my husband. He goes above and beyond because he cares. He cares that the numbers he works with directly affect people. People he has never met, nor will he ever meet. He's also ethical and honest. He refuses to falsify or fudge a little here and there just to please his boss, or anyone else for that matter.
He's a finance guy and he actually loves working with and analyzing numbers. As such, he has created quite a few reporting tools for his division - not just the region he's responsible for, but his entire finance team. He shares these tools with everyone and sometimes he gets the credit and sometimes he doesn't. Hours and hours go into these reports above and beyond his daily/weekly/monthly duties. He believes they will help not only his VP, but his team, their VPs and each and every person associate with them.
A few months back, bosses above his bosses needed some financial information and the assistance relied on Craig. The product and speed at which he produced this product impressed people so much that Craig has been integrated into producing these reports for the bosses above the bosses. Maybe the bosses way up there knew it came from Craig, but I doubt it.
Today, Craig is presenting and showing how some of his reports are effective and how they can be more effective to the entire team...this presentation was a spur-of-the-moment type of thing, and it's being presented to one of his big bosses. I'd say he getting some credit :-)
Truthfully, I know one of the reasons he works so hard is to provide for me, his family. He works hard to ensure his job security so I feel more safe.
Every night he asks me if I feel safe.
Yes.
Every night he asks me if I feel protected.
Yes.
Every night he asks me if I feel loved.
Beyond words.
So I guess it really doesn't matter what people say about him working hard and putting in extra hours. I am proud of him, his work ethic, honesty, integrity and I am proud to be his wife.
